Continuity and unity of surface
A one-off table and bar for a ball in Central London.
Using only strips of laminated timber veneer we created a temporary table for the fifteen sponsors of London’s Alliance Ball. Letting the material tell us what it wanted to do, we designed through prototyping and testing the material. The concept was that of continuity and unity of surface which manifested itself in a flake-like manner when turning and twisting 45 meters of veneer in a single space.
